Innovative Solution/Technology


Ecospray provides different technological solutions in order to answer to different needs in air and gas cleaning for diverse industrial applications and sectors.
The main innovative solutions proposed by Ecospray are:
  • ECO-ESPTM HYBRID UPGRADING a new hybrid solution for upgrading Electrostatic Precipitators performance to comply with new dust emission regulations, suitable to be potentially applied on several applications such as cement, glass, power plant, waste incineration and others.
  • ECO-SORBTM VPSA HYBRID UPGRADING a simple, reliable and efficient solution for the biogas upgrade to biomethane. Thanks to the optimization of the process based on the VPSA technology, the Ecospray method, both into new and existing plants, meets all the requirements to be distributed through the gas network, as well as to be used as fuel for transportation or for cogeneration plants.
  • ECO-SOxTM (desulfurization of marine diesel exhaust gas using sea- water). Ecospray offers innovative, high performance Exhaust Gas Cleaning systems (ECO-EGCTM) for the marine industry. Ecospray’s systems address all regulated pollutants contained in the exhaust gases of marine diesel engines, in particular on large ships such as cruise vessels, cargo ships and ferries. Ecospray’s multi-pollutant control marine ECO-EGCTM systems allow ship-owners to fully comply with the ever more stringent requirements for emissions in the ECA areas, while continuing to use low cost HFO (Heavy Fuel Oil) instead of MGO. The unique Ecospray ECO-EGCTM systems comprise the pre-treatment of the exhaust gas through a patented Catalytic Dry Filter and/or a Catalytic Oxidation Reactor installed upstream of the DeSOxtower, i.e. before the economizer, if present.
  • ECO-TRIOTM DeNOx PLUS is a proprietary combined system (DeNOx + Catalytic Dry Filter) that offers an all-in-one solution for the effective removal of NOx (fully complying with Tier III), soot & particulate emissions with no visible smoke at the stack and for the depreciation of noise. Specifically aimed at superyachts, navy ships and small to medium sized ferries (Diesel Engines from 150 to 4.300 kW) ECO-TRIOTM DeNOx PLUS additionally achieves a significant reduction of PAH and heavy metals as well as of the odors.

Ecospray is particularly committed to the care and support of the environment and is constantly working on new ways to reduce the environmental impacts of emissions and discharges from industrial applications. All technological solutions provided by Ecospray have an environmental benefit or more primarily in air quality.
The ECO-ESPTM system is very efficient in dust removal also considering the stricter regulations on particulate emissions. As a result of the combined action of the ESP (that acts as a primary separator achieving dust levels below 100mg/Nm3) and the ECO-ESPTMwall flow filtering layer (that acts as a highly effective and efficient polishing stage), the dust content in the gas emissions downstream of the ESP can reach a level equal to 2-3mg/Nm3. Additionally, the optional multi-pollution control capabilities of the catalyzed filtering modules could also improve the performance of the existing systems that have to comply with the high emission limits of NOx, CO or VOC.
ECO-SORBTM VPSA HYBRID UPGRADING, the Ecospray’s proprietary and innovative system of upgrade from biogas to biomethane removes:
  • H2S and CO2 simultanously
  • Siloxanes and Mercaptans
With the ECO-SOxTM systems Ecospray provides the desulfurization of marine diesel exhaust gas using sea-water. Ecospray’s attention to the needs of the marine industry and commitment to the environment are evident in our multi-pollutant control systems for air cleaning, which remove nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, hydrocarbons, heavy metals, carbon monoxide, soot and ashes. Notably, Ecospray’s marine systems result in no polluting discharges to sea, so as to minimize the environmental footprint and impacts of navigation in ports and coastal areas.

With ECO-TRIOTM DeNOx PLUS (all in-one system to reduce particulate and NOx for medium-small size marine engines) these results are achieved:
  • NOx removal within TIER III limits. If required, NOx removal over 95%;
  • PM and SOOT removal > 95%
  • Typical noise attenuation from 30 to 40 dB
  • Reduction of PAH and heavy metals up to 95%
  • odor control and no visible smoke at the stack

Case Study

In his almost 15 years of life, ECOSPRAY solutions have been successfully installed worldwide in over 400 projects as follows:
1. big turn-key works (design, supply, installation, start-up), such as #4 DeSOx hybrid systems installed on a Ro.Pax ferry (a project > EUR 8.0 MM with TT-Line, Travemuende - Germany) or the world largest bag house equipped with ceramic filtering elements (#4400 elements for a design gas flow > 250,000 Nm3/hour at 320 °C) supplied to Italcementi - Italy (value abt. EUR 2,0 MM);
2. large multiple works over several years like the frame agreement with Carnival Group to equip most of their cruise vessels with our DeSOx Towers (to date abt. 160 systems supplied for cleaning the exhaust gas of diesel engines from 6-7 up to 16 MW);
3. medium-large size projects (from EUR 250 K to 1.0 MM), mainly revolving around the design and supply of systems/equipment like the recent DeNOx SNCR for Biomass Power - UK (various biomass boilers with gas flow of approx. Nm3/h), the Bag Filter for Tichy coal fire boiler in Poland (abt. Nm3/h), the ECO-SORB™ project with CAP, a multi-utility in Milan - Italy, that consist of the supply + installation of one upgrading system (Ecospray patent) of the biogas produced from civil sewage (over 100 m3/h) to bio-methane which can be used as car fuel or introduced in the natural gas network;
4. small works from EUR 50 to 150 K such as the supply of engineering and/or smart parts for larger projects of third parties (mainly regarding injection skids and lances for DeNOx and Gas Cooling systems).
