1. Development
From 1994 to 2019, Cambodia proved to be one of the fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia, with a growth rate of 7.7% of GDP/year, but was severely affected by the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic (with GDP growth reduced to 2.3%).
2. Strategy for green development
Cambodia has become one of the first countries in the world to develop a "National Green Growth Roadmap " in 2010. Subsequently, the Cambodian National Strategic Plan on Green Growth (NSPGG) 2013-2030 and the National Policy on Green Growth (NPGG) 2013- 2030 were published under the coordination of the National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD).
3. Logistics and industrial infrastructure
This section covers the following topics: ports and waterways, railways, roads, airports, telecommunications and connectivity, industrial and logistics parks.
4. Energy and Environment
This section covers the following topics: energy infrastructure, air quality, water, waste and soil
5. Public Private Partnership
Cambodia considers the use of PPP as the best alternative financing option for infrastructure development. This is because, on the one hand, the demand for infrastructure has been gradually increasing while the government budget is limited, and on the other hand, PPP brings innovation and increases the quality of infrastructure or service and provides better value for money.
